THE HIDDEN PHILANTHROPIST
SEASON 2, EPISODE 02
THE HIDDEN PHILANTHROPIST talks to MOIRA KELLY
SHOW NOTES
Summary –
Inspired by Mother Teresa from an early age, Moira Kelly’s life journey is deeply moving, heartwarming and inspiring. Moira’s heart that sees beyond age, culture and religion has taken her across the globe, in an extraordinary effort to care for all of humanity. Her great compassion came to life when at 7, she told her mother that she would join Mother Teresa in Calcutta, India. By the age of 21, Moira landed in Calcutta and began her 14 year humanitarian venture abroad. She shares her experiences working in the Bronx from shelters to babies born with cocaine addictions, to working in Romania with HIV and AIDS affected children, to living in Bosnia caring for sick children. Moira’s gift of a mother’s heart and an overflow of compassion saw her adopt Ahmed and Emmanuel from Iraq, as well as Trishna and Krishna from Bangladesh – both stories overwhelmingly emotional. As Andrew explores Moira’s vivid and fulfilling life stories, listeners are given the opportunity to learn about her foundation, Moira Kelly Creating Hope Foundation, and how they can get involved in supporting this phenomenal foundation.
